Free all in one cell phone locating app MobiWee

If you own an iOS device, you must know Find My iPhone/iPad etc. Find My iPhone use your Apple account (Email address) to identify and locate your iOS device. The location of your handset is pinpointed on iMap (used to be Google Maps, but Apple now is leaving away from all Google products). If your iOS device is lost or stolen, you can lock your phone or play a sound help you to find it. If you could not find it and have private data, you can perform a remote wipe to clean all your data, such as call log, phone book and text messages etc.

Find My iPhone is Apple’s state of the art product. However, Android lacks such powerful app developed by Google. Maybe that’s why third-party cell phone tracking apps show up from time to time and MobiWee is one of them.

Do not get me wrong. MobiWee is not specifically developed for Android. As a matter of fact, it’s available to iOS, Android, Windows Mobile, and BlackBerry. Quite impressive, right? It however does not support Symbian OS.

Let me introduce MobiWee first. It’s an all-in-one cloud-based location app for various platforms. In addition to locate your device, you can also use it to back up and restore your contacts, send and receive text messages and manage and transfer files. All operations can be done in a browser.

If you have an iPhone, you can sync your data to Apple server and never lose any of them. With Mobiwee, you can backup your contacts, call logs and text message to their sever as well. If you buy a new phone, you just need to transfer your data from their server to your new phone.

If your cell phone goes missing, Mobiwee could also help, and that’s what it’s for. Login to your account if you could not find your phone, the app will show its location. If you believe someone has it and would return your phone, you can encrypt your data or lock your phone. If you tried all you can and still could not get it back, try remote wipe, MobiWee will restore your phone to factory settings and all data will be deleted, and the external memory will be formatted as well.

I have downloaded and installed the app from Google Play remotely. But I could not register an account with them. Every time I click on sign up now, it returns an error saying could not establish a connection to their website. I tried to sign up from my cell phone, still no luck. Then I launched the app, it has a few icons. Main functions are all on the screen, such as backup or restore contacts, upload files or locate phone. Since I do not have account, I am not able to proceed to the next step.

MobiWee is free to use, at least free of my writing. But I find on their website that only beta version is free, that’s might not be the case. Anyway, you can download either from app stores or their website. When I could register an account, I will write a detailed review.
